Wright Marshall estate agents have recently been honoured with some excellent instructions by a diverse and interesting nature. Particular attention is drawn to 15 Forest Road which is within strolling distance of Tarporley’s Georgian high street and represents excellent value at £299,950. For those seeking a country retreat, The Old School House in Tilstone Fearnall offers remarkable accommodation set in grounds of 2.573 acres, whilst the sale of Moss Cottage, Beeston Moss, Tarporley is a unique opportunity to buy a substantial five bedroom house with double garage, annex and up to ten acres. For information about any of these properties please contact the Tarporley office on 01829 731300 or tarporley@wrightmarshall.co.uk.

Referendum Effect?

Here in Tarporley Wright Marshall estate agents have been asked by many clients, both buyers and sellers whether or not the referendum has had an effect on the performance of the housing market locally. In truth we will only be able to answer this question with conviction once the referendum is over, the outcome known and we have seen sales figures subsequently. However, on the ground we are seeing somewhat contradictory signals.

On the plus side, we have achieved over 20 sales in June which is a remarkable number with a good spread of transactions across the price ranges. This is highly encouraging. We are however also aware that many applicants, particularly at the higher end of the property market are holding back pending the outcome of the referendum and will only start viewing and offering on properties once this is confirmed.

In terms of the outcome if Britain vote to leave then the prospects of the housing market are uncertain. If Britain votes to stay then I would expect the market to quickly steady down into normal patterns and for confidence to improve. However, this is course only a personal opinion and given that the most comprehensive combination of a columnists, politicians and lawyers have absolutely no consensus on this matter, it is difficult to speak with any level of certainty!
