Born and bred in Cheshire, Nigel Eckersley joined the firm as a trainee in 1978 which was shortly before the amalgamation of Wright and Partners and Henry Manley and Son Ltd gaining experience in both the Livestock market and within the professional and agency offices. Nigel studied by correspondence course from Reading University by day release and then qualified in 1983 and is now a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Nigel is Chairman of the Partnership, specialising in residential and agricultural property and the sale of all types of property by public auction, tender and private treaty.

Peter is a farmer’s son from North Wales and has been based at the company’s Chester Office since joining the company in 1988. After graduating with a degree in Rural Land Management from Reading University. Peter is highly regarded for his expertise and extensive experience in a wide range of complex rural property issues including valuations, landlord and tenant legislation, compensation claims, dispute resolution and expert witness representation. He has taken a particular interest in telecommunication installations and rural planning issues, whilst he is an accomplished Property Auctioneer selling a wide variety of properties and land.

Jonty Cliffe joined Wright Marshall in 2015 after a successful placement year from Harper Adams University, graduating with a 2:1 in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. Jonty is a dairy farmer’s son from Nantwich who has always had a passion for livestock markets, working at Beeston during school holidays since he was 14. Jonty works alongside Peter Lewis at the Chester office where he continues his training to become a qualified Valuer and Surveyor. Jonty also works at Beeston as an auctioneer, selling horse tack and implements on Wednesdays and calves on a Friday. Outside of work Jonty is an active member of Nantwich Young Farmers Club. He also enjoys playing football for Nantwich Young Farmers FC and supporting Crewe Alexandra.

Started working with the firm in 1975 in school holidays as an auctioneers assistant, obtained a degree in Land Management at Reading University and then returned to the firm in July 1981. Andrew has sold all categories of Pedigree and Commercial Livestock as well as Vintage & Modern Farm Machinery, Rural Property and Land. His current role is Partner in charge of the Beeston Calf & Weanlings sections along with being a Senior Valuer undertaking Rural Property and Land Auctions, Valuations and dealing with Single Farm payment clients. He is currently an examiner for the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Originally from the Midlands Stephen joined the firm in 2014 having previously worked in Leicestershire and Cumbria. Stephen’s areas of expertise include the Basic Payment Scheme, Environmental and Countryside Stewardship, tenancy matters, property management, sales, acquisitions and utilities. He is also becoming famous for somehow managing to reduce many Council Tax bands for dwellings with direct links to agricultural or commercial businesses. He graduated in 2006 before completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Surveying from the University of Reading. In 2012 he qualified as a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and hopes to become a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor in the not too distant future.

Alan joined in 1973 having completed a three year Rural Estate Management Course at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester and two years working for a firm operating Gloucester Livestock Market. A Fellow of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, Alan specialises in the sale and valuation of farms, agricultural and development land and equestrian property. As an auctioneer he conducts auction sales of rural property and currently runs Produce sales at Chelford, having previously sold pigs, sheep and cattle over many years.

Miles Lewis graduated with an honours degree in Land Administration in 1988, qualified as a member of the RICS in 1991, and following several years gaining experience in a specialist commercial practice, joined Wright Marshall in 1996. Elevated to Partner in 1999, Miles heads up the Commercial Property division of the business, specialising in Agency, Professional and Development. Miles is also a full qualified energy assessor in Commercial and Domestic property, and is former chairman of the Chester Association of Auctioneers, Estate Agents and Surveyors.

Alan joined Wright Marshall in 1982 as an Clerk/Auctioneer for the Livestock, Tack and Implement sales. In 1992 he joined Tarporley office working in the Residential Lettings department which we was in charge of until 2005. Alan had been working part time in the Drawing Office which he joined full time preparing plans and drawings for sales and valuations. Alan is currently in charge of the drawing office which serves all the local offices and works throughout Cheshire and the surrounding counties providing a service for individual clients and Solicitors requiring Land Registry compliant plans and various plans and drawings as well as coloured sales plans within an increasing number of sales particulars.

Neil Cummings originally joined the practice of Wright Manley in 1982 after gaining 6 years experience in Land Surveying and Building Surveying in a multi-disciplined firm in Liverpool. He studied Building Surveying at Manchester and qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1984. Neil gained post qualification experience in Residential and Commercial Properties by working for other organisations, spending the next 31 years in the Northwest of England specialising in detailed condition reports, building pathology, valuations, and property litigation including boundary disputes, then re-joined the firm of Wright Marshall in 2017. As well as being a Chartered Building Surveyor, Neil is a Chartered Building Engineer and a member of the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme. He is also an experienced Party Wall Surveyor.
