Knutsford occupies a superb location, often considered at the gateway between Cheshire and Manchester, which is within easy commutable distance, as are the commercial centers of Chester and Warrington. The Railway Station offers a direct train service in 45 minutes to Manchester Piccadilly. Both the M56 and M6 Motorway networks are easily accessible, as is Manchester International.

The town hosts various festivals and events throughout the year. Summer festivals for adults are hosted in Tatton Park. However, at Christmas time Tatton Park is transformed for a spectacular Christmas event where families can visit Father Christmas and his elves within his festive woodland grotto. Events include Royal Mail Day which is an annual event in this town dating all the way back to 1864. This event involves a town parade and consists of children in old-style costumes. Tatton Park also hosts other events such as a flower show which is perfect for garden lovers.
