Cheshire Staycations

If you didn’t go away this summer there’s still so many opportunities for you to have a holiday right here in Cheshire before the Christmas rush takes over!  There’s something for everyone, whether you like spa breaks in big historical estates or city breaks with everything on your doorstep, Cheshire has a lot to offer.

The Country Retreat

Live out your fairy tale dreams and enjoy a stay at Combermere Abbey which is rich with history and beauty – it has even been used as a filming location for television.  With Combermere Abbey, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation: you’ve got the Courtyard Cottages, the Stone Lodge and the Hudson’s Heritage award winning North Wing, which was voted as the best place to stay in the UK.  Whilst staying at the North Wing you can even enjoy the recently launched bespoke drinks and nibbles selection, known as ‘The Wellington’, a perfect addition to go together with the breath-taking views.  Speaking of the views, Combermere Abbey is surrounded by beautiful gardens and the Cottages are a short walk from the ancient woodland which is truly magical, having been restored in 2002.

The Spa Break

If you’re looking for the best of both worlds this summer, Chester Grosvenor and Spa hotel has the perfect balance for relaxing in a spa and the advantages of staying in the bustling Roman city of Chester.  You can take yourself on a tour of the city walls and end your day with a well-deserved spa treatment.  You’ll also have an abundance of restaurants and bars, just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.  You really couldn’t get more central than CH1!  You also can’t miss out on the afternoon tea at the Chester Grosvenor created by their award-winning chefs.  Whatever you’re looking for, this in-the-city gem has plenty of offers that we’re sure will be hard to choose from.

The City Break

Combine your staycation in the city with a day out at the Chester Races and stay in a luxury apartment at Roomzzz Aparthotel, just a few minutes walk from the racecourse.  Whether you’re exploring the rich history of Chester, shopping on the cobbled streets or taking advantage of the nightlife, this aparthotel is in the ideal location.  With reasonable prices for a city centre hotel, there are different types of studios to book or you can treat yourself to a penthouse suite that overlooks the racecourse.  If you’re more of an on-the-go person there’s a complimentary Grab & Go breakfast available which includes freshly baked pastries and fruit.  You’ll also have plenty of options for eating breakfast in Chester, there’s something for everyone.

One with Nature

Do you love the idea of a staycation away from the hustle and bustle of city life?  This Air BnB will certainly ensure that, as it’s located in the East Cheshire countryside just 2 miles from the Knutsford town centre.  Your accommodation: a Nordic Tipi, boasting a luxurious full king size bed and a central fireplace.  This may be a unique type of Air BnB but you’d still have access to electricity and outside bathroom facilities.  This type of staycation will be perfect for couples or family getaways and extra inflatable mattresses can be provided upon your request.  If you’re lucky enough to get the last warm ray of the autumn sun, a barbeque is available for you to dine al fresco. It’s like camping but more glamorous!

It must be said that Cheshire has a lot to offer and these four staycation ideas are just the tip of the iceberg.  If you want to make your staycation permanent, check out our current range of Cheshire properties!
