It’s all about the staycation

Share

Covid-19 has drastically changed the way we live, how we work, socialise and even how we holiday. With ever-changing travel restrictions, Brits wanting a holiday are now opting to take staycations instead of holidaying overseas.

New research from KC Communications showed the most popular accommodation that UK holidaymakers would consider. The most in demand were cottages at 95%, with lodges the second most popular choice at 81% and hotels the third choice at 79%. Chalet and country home accommodation types came in at 62%, with 60% wanting a BB, 55% contemplating a caravan and 26% thinking about campervans and 22% considering camping.

This insight can help property investors make informed decisions about how they can benefit from the staycation surge, with those who have cottage and lodge properties in a particularly fortunate and advantageous position.

For landlords and investors, a short let can open up a potentially lucrative market as they can command around 30% higher rates than long-term rentals.

Whether you’re thinking about investing in a holiday rental, have a portfolio or single property you’d like to consider renting on a short term basis, we’d be delighted to assist and give advice. Call xx in our lettings department on 01270 653 193.
