Lot 200: A 1970s De Vroomen 18ct gold diamond band ring £800-1,200

According to a recent article How to get Started Investing in Jewellery in the New York Post (2019), the best way to enhance your jewellery collection is to buy rare, signed jewellery incorporating fine and natural gemstones. This 1970s De Vroomen gold and diamond ring ticks all those boxes. Consigned on one of our Friday valuation days at our Knutsford saleroom, this diamond ring was crafted by renowned master jewellers, Leo and Ginnie de Vroomen. De Vroomen jewellery is bold, sophisticated and sought-after, with fewer than a handful of pieces auctioned in the last couple of years.

The signature style of De Vroomen jewellery is the result of a collaboration between husband and wife team, Dutch goldsmith Leo de Vroomen, and British jewellery designer Ginnie de Vroomen. The couple started collaborating on jewellery in the 1970s, and their designs encapsulate a dedication to form and timeless style that is unparalleled. De Vroomen won the prestigious Diamonds International Award both in 1974 and 1986, for a breathtaking diamond ring and a unique ebony and diamond bangle respectively.

Set to sell on 20th July is a diamond ring that was designed and made in 1975, only the year after their first Diamond International Award. It is clear to see the parallels between the award-winning diamond ring design (above), and the ring purchased by our vendor. The undulating and organic band design with a textured finish and polished raised accents makes for an eye-catching, comfortable and individual addition to any outfit.

Our diamond ring incorporates all of these design trademarks, and showcases a bright brilliant cut diamond, weighing approximately 0.15ct to the centre. This stylish ring was purchased from a Manchester store and has remained in a private collection ever since. The ring is accompanied by its original pouch and box, incorporating the De Vroomen logo.

Our Summer Boutique Sale is taking place on Saturday 20th July, with viewing events at out Knutsford saleroom on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th July from 10am until 4pm.
